Sorry, Not Sorry. 80s Fashions Are Back!
We’ve noticed that some fabulous 80s fashion trends have made a comeback this year, and all we can say is THANK GOODNESS! If you’re like us, you’ve already been loving and rocking these forever fashion-forward looks. Now that they’re coming back into fashion, you have even more buying options, which is just fantastic. We’ve curated some of our absolute favorite M•USE items that beautifully reflect the heart of 80s fashion for women, and we are thrilled to be able to help you update your wardrobe with these modernized 80s classics. If you’re going to be drenched in vogue, you might as well start at the top, right? So that’s exactly what we’re going to do!
Statement Accessories
The optimal word here is “chunky”, and just like most trends of the 1980s- but especially 80s fashion for women- bigger is better. Start with some simple oversized jewelry, like our Chunky Gold and Pearl Choker. Next, accessorize your luscious locks. You don’t have to go full 80s perm, but you can certainly dress up your ‘do with our Mari Bold Headband in Velvet or some chunky hair clips. We sell a variety of colors and bedazzled looks from pearls to rhinestones. But don't let your noggin have all the fun! There is a very practical and beautiful item missing from your waist, and we want to help with that. In the 1980s it was called The Fanny Pack, but in 2020 it's called The Belt Bag. In the 1990s Chanel was the first major designer to market this kind of statement piece as a positive fashion statement, and today you can find them everywhere from designers like Gucci to retailers like Gap. Luckily we happen to sell the Two Way Faux Snake Leather Belt Bag, which has the best quality and style for the money by far. You're welcome, love!
Big, Bold Tops
Go for bigger and bolder tops, such as our cozy Amora Wrap Bodysuit with delightfully large sleeve detail. Big or oversized sleeves are definitely back and making a splash this year in fashion. A wool turtleneck sweater is another 80s staple, like our Harper Wool Turtleneck in Fuscia. Can you imagine a better fabric for a turtleneck than wool? How about a 100% silk turtleneck like our Fiona Blouse? You gotta love those options.
Striking Bottoms
Distressed denim and ripped jeans never seem to go out of style. For an even cooler look for spring and summer, check out this cute Amalia Ripped Denim Mini Skort. Want an 80s trifecta? High-waisted, bold colored, mini skirt- our Hina Asymmetrical High Waist Denim Mini Skort has it all. And of course, you can’t forget that Bike Shorts have been sneaking their way back into the limelight. Try them in a bold 80s pattern, like our Snake Print Biker Shorts. Pretty similar to the ones Alyssa Milano struck a pose in back in 1987.

Breezy Dresses
This romantic and flowy Estelle Floral Shift Dress has a key feature. Can you guess what it is? That's right- puffy sleeves. Remember the “bigger is better” motif? Well, these sleeves are so majestically oversized, we’re amazed that you haven’t added this gem to your cart already…. Go ahead, we’ll wait for you! If you’re into a more slender silhouette, feast your eyes on this Jasmine turtleneck dress with elegantly long sleeves. It’s 100% polyester, so it’s versatile for all four seasons.
Have you also been noticing the recent return of metallic fabrics? Well, we've got you covered there too with our Valentina Satin Slip Dress. Choose from Silver, Peach Pink, or Champagne and enjoy the shimmer.
Tailored Outerwear
We’re not done with cool days yet, so you’re probably wondering how to top off all of these incredible outfits. You can never go wrong with tailored, slouchy blazers and an oversized, feminine take on menswear, like this Business Babe 90s (and 80s) Fit Double Breasted Blazer.
If you need even warmer options and you like your coats a little longer, try this delicate Audrey Balloon Sleeve Wool Coat for women, or this fabulous Victoria Tailored Wrap Tweed Coat, which is 100% tweed. Tailored coats like these were all over Paris Fashion Week in March.
All Dressed Up With Nowhere to Go?
You know that all of you ladies are our real M•USE. We want to hear how you’re doing and what you’re wearing because we wouldn’t do any of this without you. Let us know which of these styles you’re trying, and send us pictures of how amazing you look in them!
